The Bus Preservation Society of Western Australia (Inc) is a unique organisation dedicated to the preservation of Western Australian bus heritage. It has a collection of 27 historic buses and a comprehensive bus-related archive and artefact collection. BPSWA members meet every Tuesday at the depot in Whiteman Park and work in a congenial, friendly environment — there are many different ways to contribute through the Society's activities.
Recently retired, or looking for a new life interest to productively invest your spare time in? New members and volunteers are needed to carry on the good work currently being done by the Society. BPSWA welcomes anyone who would like to join the current members and continue the ongoing work of promoting Western Australian bus heritage.
Membership also gives access to the Society's Document Register, with its collection of archived material and publications such as Rattler and the Occasional Paper series.
Volunteering opportunities

Valued volunteer contributors include
General hands
Tour guides showing visitors around the depot, cleaning buses and the yard, servicing checks (tyres, batteries, fuel, oils, water), tracking stores and spares, and driving the ute to collect or deliver parts.
Office & administration
Word processing, bookkeeping, cataloguing, research, writing and editing for our publications, and website administration.
Trades
Mechanics, electricians, fitters, panel beaters, painters, body builders, trimmers, metalworkers, woodworkers, and trades assistants.
Drivers & event co-ordinators
Bus drivers, conductors and tour guides to operate our scheduled services and at special events.
Still thinking about joining? Come out to the Whiteman Park workshops on a Tuesday and have a look for yourself — take a guided tour, kick a few tyres, inspect the operating buses, and talk to members already volunteering over a cuppa in the crib room.
